Steven McCanless is a Tax Specialist in the Trusts & Estates Group. He assists clients with the preparation of federal and state estate tax returns, fiduciary income tax returns, and gift tax returns. Additionally, he prepares preliminary tax projections for estate planning purposes and works closely with attorneys on estate administration. He also responds to IRS notices and communications.

Prior to joining LP, he was a Professional Advisor for McDermott Will & Emory LLP, a Senior Tax Analyst for The Northern Trust Company, and a former service member in the United States Marine Corps. Steven earned his MST degree from DePaul University, his BBA degree from Benedictine University, and his AA degree from MiraCosta College.
