Julie Workman is a partner in LP’s Real Estate Group, specializing in commercial and residential real estate development. With over 20 years of law firm and in-house experience, she advises her clients on a variety of real estate acquisitions, dispositions, entitlements, zoning, land use, development and leasing matters. She also has substantial experience in drafting and negotiating property management agreements and construction contracts.

Having previously served in-house with an international hotel company, as well as a national homebuilder, Julie is adept at handling a broad range of corporate transactions, hotel management agreements, hotel construction, land acquisition and renovation contracts, and office, retail and restaurant leases.

Outside of the office, Julie has enthusiastically coached her children’s local and travel basketball teams for the past ten years, and is passionate about sports.

What’s your favorite quote?
My favorite quote is from Maya Angelou: “I’ve learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision. I’ve learned that even when I have pains, I don’t have to be one. I’ve learned that every day you should reach out and touch someone. People love a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back. I’ve learned that I still have a lot to learn. I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?
You have to take care of yourself before you can take care of others.
If you weren’t an attorney, what would you be?
If I weren’t an attorney, I would be a full-time basketball coach or I would own and operate a knitting store. Polar opposites, but both make my heart happy.
