Kathryn (Katie) Nadro is a partner in the firm’s Corporate Group, advising clients on cybersecurity and data privacy matters.

A Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US), Katie helps clients navigate various data security and privacy issues. She assists clients with policy drafting, program management, and data collection. She also advises clients on best practices for compliance with evolving state, federal, and international data protection laws.

If a data breach occurs, Katie guides clients through the breach response process and relies on her previous litigation experience to advise clients through any potential legal claims or regulatory investigations.

With previous experience as in-house counsel, Katie understands and is attuned to her clients’ business objectives.

Before joining LP, Katie was a partner with Raines Feldman Littrell LLP. She is a frequent writer and speaker on data security and privacy issues for organizations such as the ABA’s Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section’s Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Committee, the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education, and the American Bankruptcy Institute. She is also a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals, the world’s largest information privacy organization. She earned her J.D., with honors, from the University of Chicago Law School and her B.A., with honors, from the University of California, Berkeley.

  • If you weren’t an attorney, what would you be?
    A book editor - I love reading and I tend to have strong opinions about what I’m reading.

  • What is the most interesting part of your job?
    I love learning the details about a client’s business and goals. It’s a crucial part of determining how best I can help to reach those goals, mitigate any risk, and nurture the business.

  • What’s one thing someone would be surprised to know about you?
    I’m a Navy kid and was born in Spain during my family’s deployment. I love Spain and Spanish culture and am still working to improve my Spanish language skills.

  • What was the first concert you went to?
    Alanis Morissette, at a county fairground with my parents and siblings.
