Austin is Senior Counsel in LP’s Employment & Executive Compensation Group. 

He represents private and public employers in all aspects of employee benefits and executive compensation. He routinely advises on qualified retirement plans, welfare benefit plans, nonqualified deferred compensation plans, equity incentive plans, fringe benefits, and other benefit arrangements.

Austin helps clients navigate ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, the Affordable Care Act, and the many other laws affecting employee benefits. He represents and defends employers in their interactions with the U.S. Departments of Labor, Treasury, and Health and Human Services. He also advises clients on the employee benefits aspects of business transactions and ESOPs.

Austin earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame.
