If you haven’t conducted your sexual harassment trainings for 2020 yet, you only have four months left to do so! As a reminder to Illinois employers, the Illinois Human Rights Act was recently amended to require all employers to conduct annual sexual harassment trainings, beginning in 2020. By December 31, 2020, employers must train their employees. (The IDHR has made clear that the December 31, 2020 deadline has not changed, despite the COVID-19 pandemic.)

With many workplaces operating remotely, now is a great time to conduct sexual harassment trainings online. While the IDHR has released a model training that contains the minimum necessary requirements, we recommend that employers develop and utilize their own trainings that include interactive elements and examples specific to their workplace and policies. LP is available to assist in the development and implementation of a training program that is tailored to your workplace.
