Macy M. Stoneback

Paralegal

Macy is a paralegal in LP’s Corporate Group, providing support for various transactions and corporate governance matters. She keeps transactions moving forward through monitoring progress against a checklist, drafting and organizing documents, and communicating with colleagues and clients. Macy has significant experience handling matters for high-growth companies, such as entity formation, debt and equity financing, securities filings, international matters, and contract review.

With three decades of paralegal experience, Macy brings practical wisdom, keen attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to a wide range of corporate matters. Macy has provided legal services from the vantage points of small and large law firms, a venture capital/private equity firm and its portfolio companies, a Big 4 accounting firm, and a late-stage company that went public.

Macy earned her Paralegal Certificate, with honors, from Roosevelt University and her B.M., summa cum laude, from Northern Illinois University.

Outside of the office, Macy enjoys working out, attending performances, and spending time outside.

Q&A

  • What is something that makes you happy?
I feel inspired and nourished by attending live music shows, dance performances, and art fairs. I also really enjoy biking, kickboxing, weightlifting, Pilates, yoga, and walking.

  • What’s one thing someone would be surprised to know about you?
I played the clarinet semi-professionally for many years in addition to being a full-time paralegal.

  • What’s your favorite way to spend your commuting time?
I bike to work sometimes instead of taking transit. It activates my endorphins to start my workday and helps me unwind on the way home.
