In part 2 of this 2-part series in Law.com’s Mid-Market Report, Robert Romanoff, partner in the firm’s Trusts & Estates practice group, is interviewed regarding Levenfeld Pearlstein’s robust approach to succession planning. In an era where many firms do not think ahead more than a decade down the road, succession planning — as well as creating guidelines for those who do serve as firm leaders — is essential to preserving a firm’s legacy.

“In the absence of term limits and in the absence of an age-based restriction, there’s nothing forcing you to deal with this issue, and you’re not giving younger attorneys a reason to want to step up,” Romanoff said when asked about creating succession guidelines.
