CHICAGO, September 26, 2019 Levenfeld Pearlstein (LP) partner Harold D. Israel’s clients have always known him to be one of the finest restructuring attorneys around. Now many others will have the opportunity to realize the same thing. LP is pleased to announce that Israel, a partner in the firm’s Banking & Restructuring Practice Group, has been honored with two awards from the Turnaround Management Association (TMA), an international organization focused on corporate restructuring, renewal, and corporate health. The TMA Chicago/Midwest Chapter has recognized him with its Outstanding Service award (to be presented in November), while TMA Global’s Outstanding Individual Contribution award will be presented to Israel today by the organization’s global leadership at the 2019 TMA Annual Conference.

Israel has been practicing bankruptcy law for over 25 years and has been an active member of TMA’s Chicago/Midwest Chapter for over two decades. Highly regarded among his peers, he represents debtors, asset purchasers, secured lenders, creditors and official creditor committees in workouts and restructurings throughout the country. A past president of the TMA’s Chicago/Midwest Chapter, Israel has also served as a trusted advisor to other TMA Chapter Presidents and has helped shape and grow the organization through his service on four Chapter nominating committees. For many years, he has also played an integral role in planning and promoting the Executive Speaker Forum, the Chapter’s premier event. Israel also served as TMA Global Vice-President of Education in 2014-15 and co-chaired the TMA Global Senate.

“There is no higher honor than to be recognized by my peers and colleagues from the TMA, an organization that has enabled me to grow both professionally and personally,” said Israel. “I truly value the relationships that I have developed through my decades-long involvement with the TMA and relish the opportunity to work with so many wonderful people. I am truly grateful for this honor”

Israel was awarded the TMA Chicago/Midwest Chapter’s Small Company Turnaround of the Year in 2015 and Small Transaction of the Year in 2017. He has been honored as a “Recognized Practitioner” by Chambers USA for the last three years, named a “Best Lawyer” by the U.S. News & World Report’s Best Lawyers in America for the last eight years, and named an Illinois Super Lawyer in 2019.
