A partner in the Trusts & Estates Group, Robin handles complex trust, estate, and fiduciary-related litigation, including breach of fiduciary duty claims, will and trust contests, probate claims, contested heirship, accounting disputes, and judicial construction of estate planning documents. Additionally, Robin handles litigation involving family businesses and appellate matters regarding trust, estate, and probate issues.
Robin combines her extensive knowledge of trust, estate, property, and tax laws with hands-on litigation experience to efficiently and effectively represent fiduciaries, including both individual and corporate trustees, as well as heirs and beneficiaries in high-stakes litigation.
In addition to traditional litigation, Robin regularly advises trustees on issues surrounding fiduciary risk management, beneficiary relations and the discharge of fiduciary duties. She also assists clients in relation to modifications to irrevocable trusts, including through nonjudicial settlement agreements, decantings and judicial modifications.
Robin is a Fellow with the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). ACTEC membership is based on professional reputation, experience in the fields of trusts and estates, and substantial contributions to these fields through lecturing, writing, teaching, and bar activities. Robin frequently writes and speaks on fiduciary litigation and legal ethics issues impacting trusts and estates attorneys.
Before joining LP, Robin was a partner at Levin Schreder & Carey, Ltd., and she began her legal career as an associate at Winston & Strawn LLP. Robin earned her J.D., with high distinction, from University of Iowa College of Law, where she was elected to the Order of the Coif, and her B.A., cum laude, from Simpson College. In her free time, she enjoys reading and spending time with friends and family at Lake Delavan in Wisconsin.
