Abraham Trieger

Abe is a partner in the Real Estate & Finance Practice Group. He concentrates his practice in the areas of real estate development, acquisitions and leasing, with significant expertise in the vertical subdivision of mixed-use, office, retail and hotel buildings. As a result of his more than 30 years of practice, he is able to provide an unusual depth of not only knowledge of the law, but solid practical experience enhanced by his work with sophisticated and successful real estate professionals. Abe has been involved in nearly all facets of commercial real estate, including ground leases, retail shopping centers, industrial facilities, build-to-suits, office buildings, condominium development and multi-family residential.

He has also successfully handled the work-out of construction loans and the acquisition and disposition of multi-state retail lease portfolios.

Some representative transactions in which Abe has recently been involved include:

• The purchase of air-rights for the development of a condominium project in Vail, Colorado, with the subsequent annexation of the development into an existing condominium regime.
• The ground lease from a tax-exempt charitable institution of approximately 40 acres in North suburban Chicago for the development of 164 townhome condominiums.
• The representation of the owner of an approximately 845,000 square foot office complex in the leasing of office space.
• The vertical subdivision and condominium conversion of a large mixed-use residential, hotel and retail project in Chicago.
• The acquisition of the Four Seasons Hotel, New York.

Abe’s clients include both local and national developers of retail, office, hotel, condominium properties, retail and restaurant tenants, manufacturing and light industrial users, and financial institutions.
