Plan to spend October 23-24, 2008 mixing and mingling with other new markets tax credit (NMTC) professionals and industry veterans for what looks to be a great event and tremendous opportunity to discuss, share, learn and network. Join us for an exploration of today’s NMTC industry—the issues shaping it, the ways the program is and will be used, and the strategies that other professionals are employing to complete successful transactions.

Some panelists will address topics of widespread interest while others will look at the issues through investors’ eyes, examining items such as the role of compliance in safeguarding an investment; protecting assets and monitoring investments; and the diversity of NMTC investments, from biotech facilities to charter schools and the idiosyncrasies’ of the various project types.

Learn too how to uncover funds by identifying CDEs that have allocations and how to sell them your project, how to bridge your project’s funding gap with NMTCs, and how to find common ground on the issues that play a prominent role in negotiations and underwriting criteria.

Attendees can also look forward to a discussion on the Department of Treasury’s new proposed guidance meant to address lingering NMTC program questions, get a recap of the recently allocated awards and catch up on other CDFI Fund–related news.
