CHICAGO Levenfeld Pearlstein LLC is pleased to announce that David B. Berzon and Marc S. Joseph, both partners in the firm’s Real Estate & Finance Practice Group, have been selected among Midwest Real Estate News’ “40 Over 40” for 2007. The full “40 Over 40” list appears in the publication’s December issue. Established in 1985, Midwest Real Estate News is the region’s leading commercial real estate publication, reporting on deals in the Midwest real estate markets and featuring the latest trends, market updates and coverage of the region's leading urban centers.

Midwest Real Estate News’ “40 Over 40” is a showcase of successful professionals over the age of 40 from all aspects of commercial real estate throughout the Midwest. The publication’s staff decided upon the final list after weighing hundreds of qualified participants. Those recognized on the list have demonstrated years of dedication to the industry, expertise, and an ability to mentor others, contribute to their communities and contribute to the advancement of the industry.

“We have worked very hard to build a premier commercial real estate practice and the efforts of talented and dedicated lawyers like Dave and Marc are a huge part of our success,” said Brian K. Kozminski, chair of Levenfeld Pearlstein’s Real Estate & Finance Practice Group. “We are thrilled to see them both recognized in this manner, as the honor is well deserved.”

Mr. Berzon is a former chairman of Levenfeld Pearlstein’s Real Estate & Finance Practice Group. In 2005, he achieved the "CRE" designation from The Counselors of Real Estate. Along with Mr. Joseph, Mr. Berzon was instrumental in organizing the real estate group in 2002 and, in the last five years, they have led the growth of the group from five attorneys to its current stature as one of the top real estate law firms in the Midwest.

Mr. Joseph is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and is also a CPA. He has more than 26 years of experience in a wide range of complex real estate matters throughout the country, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing and joint ventures. Mr. Joseph is an active member of ICSC and spoke at the recent NAREIM conference on real estate joint ventures.

Earlier this year, Midwest Real Estate News ranked Levenfeld Pearlstein’s Real Estate & Finance Practice Group as the “number one real estate practice in the Midwest.” The practice provides clients with a broad range of legal proficiency, experience and practical knowledge in all facets of commercial real estate transactions. It represents a wide range of clients throughout the United States who are involved in development, construction, investment, debt and equity financing, leasing and specialized tax and ownership structuring of industrial facilities, hotels, office buildings, golf courses, manufactured housing communities, retail shopping centers, complex condominium projects, and multifamily housing (rental and for-sale).
