Dakoff quoted in West Loop Condo Board’s Opposition Regarding Sale to Mental Health Non-Profit
January 12, 2011
LP partner Howard Dakoff was quoted in a Crain’s ChicagoRealEstateDaily.com article regarding a dispute over whether a local non-profit has the ability to convert as many as 20 condominiums of a West Loop condominium project into housing for mental-health patients. The district's alderman is blocking the plan due to strong opposition on the part of building residents.
Dakoff, who represents the building's condo board, is asserting that the proposal violates the building's condo declaration and that should the units be used in the manner proposed, the board intends to enforce its remedies for such prohibited uses.
