Brian Kozminski, Chair of the firm's Real Estate & Finance Practice Group, was quoted in the Chicago Lawyer magazine article, "Lawyers partner with retail landlords, tenants." The article discusses the current landscape of local real state transactions and suggests that the local economy is beginning to emerge from the depths of the recession, based on trends some key attorneys are seeing.
"The tide has turned and we're now on the upswing again," Kozminski said. "Transaction volume is picking up. Deals are getting done again."
While the city may be on an upswing, Kozminski, who also serves as a village trustee in Northfield, said that the retail market in more distant suburbs is still hurting. "The fringe suburban market, the xburbs [suburbs on the fringes of a metropolitan area], has gotten quieter."
