Rejean is a patent prosecution associate in the Intellectual Property Service Group. Rejean manages invention disclosure review and evaluation processes for Fortune 500 telecommunication, medical device, electrical, and manufacturing companies. She prepares and prosecutes both domestic and foreign patent applications and prepares patent opinions regarding patentability, validity/invalidity, and infringement/non-infringement. In addition, Rejean assists in the investigations into third party patents and patent-related litigation. Rejean assists senior partners in patent licensing activities, such as preparing and reviewing proposed licensing contracts.
Rejean’s specific telecommunication industry patent experience includes narrowband Project 25 Phase I and Phase II compliant protocols (TIA and IEEE compliant) for public safety communications, and broadband protocols and equipment for interfacing with narrowband devices and for media transfer. Her specific medical device experience includes cardiovascular and surgical equipment and filtration devices. Other industry experience includes manufacturing devices such as strapping machines, packaging materials, mechanical pump systems and devices, as well as printing, cleaning, and healthcare supplies.
Prior to law school, Rejean worked as an electrical engineer for Wisconsin Electric, now WE Energies. There she assisted in the design and renovation of existing substations and researched sites for new substations, including assisting in estimating cost, materials, and labor for the various projects. In addition, Rejean prepared projections for future substation and line/feeder loading, reviewed and updated feeder ratings, and performed load flow analysis for normal and contingency conditions. In her spare time, Rejean developed, implemented, and managed workshops and lectures to help new associate engineers within the company understand power engineering.
Rejean graduated from Marquette University Law School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in Dec. 2005. She served on the Marquette Intellectual Property Law Review and was awarded the ABA-BNA Award for Excellence in Intellectual Property.
