Gary I. Blackman

Gary Blackman is a founding member of Levenfeld Pearlstein, served as Chairman of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group from 1999 through 2004 and, in 2005, was appointed the firm’s General Counsel.

Gary's focus is on complex business litigation, representing clients on corporate, real estate and financial services related matters. He has extensive experience in state and federal courts at the trial and appellate court levels as well as before arbitration panels. Gary’s work focuses on the protection of business assets; including copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets and related licensing, non-competition and restrictive covenant issues.

Gary is one of the firm’s leaders in creating and promoting the philosophy that the litigation attorneys at Levenfeld Pearlstein are business counselors first and foremost. Gary has a unique ability to analyze complex business disputes and provide the firm’s clients with a road map to help them make informed decisions about what is best for their business or for them personally.

Gary won first place in the Chicago Lawyer 2nd Annual creative writing competition and is also the author of Levenfeld Pearlstein’s Guide to Business Litigation.
