CHICAGO – Levenfeld Pearlstein LLC is pleased to announce the promotions of attorneys Michael St. Peter and Steven M. Weiss to partner. Both attorneys were previously associates in the firm’s Corporate Practice Group.

Michael St. Peter
Mr. St. Peter represents private equity funds, unfunded sponsors, privately-held companies and entrepreneurs in a wide variety of complex business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, private placements, joint ventures, recapitalizations, financings, venture capital investments, executive compensation arrangements and transactions involving distressed companies.
In addition to being a member of Levenfeld Pearlstein’s Corporate Practice Group, Mr. St. Peter is a member of the firm's Private Equity, ESOP and Sports Law Service Groups. He earned his B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his J.D. from University of Michigan Law School.
Steven M. Weiss
Named in 2009 as an Illinois SuperLawyers Rising Star, Mr. Weiss advises a wide range of clients, including private equity funds, unfunded sponsors, entrepreneurs, sophisticated private investors, closely held businesses and public companies involved in manufacturing, insurance, banking, real estate development, technology, retail and other industries. He assists clients in negotiating and structuring strategic alliances, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, acquisitions of distressed businesses as going concerns or select assets of distressed businesses, commercial lending transactions, financings, venture capital transactions and private placements, among other areas of service.
Mr. Weiss earned his B.A. from the University of Texas and his J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law.
