Community Associations Practice Group Wins 2014 IREM Chicago Premier Award for Technology and Design

March 10, 2014

Group Honored for Development of LP Condo Extranet, enabling more efficient client service

Levenfeld Pearlstein, LLC (LP) is pleased to announce that its Community Associations Practice Group has been selected by the Chicago Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) as the recipient of its 2014 Premier Award in the category of Technology and Design/Renovation.  The first law firm to ever win the award, LP was honored for its development of the LP Condo Extranet, a first of its kind, customizable database that enables its clients to track the status of their collection matters in real-time.  Partners Howard Dakoff and Patricia O’Connor accepted the award on behalf of LP at the March 7th awards dinner at The Drake Hotel in Chicago.

The Premier Award in Technology & Design/Renovation was established to recognize an organization that has applied or developed technology that improves the performance of a real estate property or a real estate-related organization.

“We are honored to be recognized by the IREM for our ongoing commitment to ensuring that our clients not only receive the best-possible legal counsel, but also have an unparalleled client experience, down to the smallest detail,” O’Connor said.  “At its core, our job is to make our clients’ lives easier, and when we recognized the lack of a truly customizable tracking solution for their collection matters, it was an easy decision to create one for them.”

LP’s commitment to client service is well documented.  The firm prides itself on building close relationships with its clients, learning their businesses and accompanying challenges, and then proactively developing creative solutions that address not only their legal needs, but the needs of their businesses as a whole.  When LP took note of the dearth of customizable real-time collections reporting systems, its IT department was charged with creating a client accessible database for all collection matters.  The result is the LP Condo Extranet, launched in November 2012 and tailored to the needs of community association clients.  The portal is accessible 24/7/365 to all LP clients through a secure login, and provides:

  • Real-time, printable status reports of all client collection matters, available in both Quick View and Full Summary formats.
  • Access to all pertinent documents related to a specific collection matter, including Demands for Possession, Complaints and Court Orders.
  • Real-time financial information on each collection matter, including all invoices issued (both paid and outstanding).
  • Access to News Feed notifications issued by the Community Associations Practice Group related to the practice and developments affecting community association law, which include tweets, articles and data points.

Since the portal’s launch, hundreds of community association clients have utilized the technology.  Client response has been overwhelmingly positive.

“Levenfeld Pearlstein has cutting-edge technology that helps our managers and clients stay on top of all their legal issues,” said Steven Levy, CEO of Sudler Property Management.  “The technology that LP utilizes is innovative, thorough, and of the highest quality.”
