Paralegal, Asset Planning and Preservation

The Opportunity
LP’s Asset Planning & Preservation Service Group is a growing and important practice in our firm. The firm’s unique investment in technology, people and other firm resources makes this an outstanding opportunity for an experienced paralegal who wants to be involved with helping to grow and shape this service group.

Qualifications/Skills Required

  • Paralegal certificate required.
  • A minimum of 4-5 years experience.
  • Excellent communication skills. \
  • Must have experience working in estate planning (including wills, trusts, and gift tax).
  • A strong working knowledge of both federal and state tax laws, and IL probate laws is necessary.

Intellectual Property Attorney

The Opportunity

LP’s Intellectual Property practice is a strategic growth area of the firm, as LP continues to serve its growing client base, which includes a number of publicly traded corporations. The firm’s unique investment in technology, people and other firm resources has brought repeated success to its lawyers in growing their practices. This is an excellent opportunity for a Partner (10-12 years) with some portable business to join our firm and wants to be involved with helping to grow and shape the IP group.  

Qualifications/Skills Required

  • A J.D. from a well respected law school
  • Superior academic credentials
  • Electrical, Computer or related engineering degree
  • Strong writing skills and USPTO registration is required
  • Experience in domestic and international patent prosecution and strategic development, copyright and trademark protection and enforcement, drafting and negotiation of licensing, confidentiality, and non-competition agreements
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to interface with colleagues and customers at all levels, by virtue of professional competence, integrity, and personal style
  • A significant and demonstrated commitment to responsive service to both internal colleagues and external clients
  • Creativity and outstanding analytic ability
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • A hands-on, practical approach to the practice of law
  • Strong project management skills
